💗Burning Man Placement Bombshell (💩 or 🍦)

Pink Heart will be at F and 8 this year. ("Fate")

Pink Heart has been placed at 8:00 and F.

Initially, this was difficult news to digest.

The vision since our first year (2009) was an “Esplanade Viewing Station.” All of our gear and plans are built around being on the boardwalk, facing the open Playa. This has been an honor that we have worked hard to earn.

And, honestly, it was a massive source of pride.

I beamed when I told people I helped run an Esplanade camp.

I will still beam when I tell people I help run Pink Heart - and I will continue to beam when I tell people I am a Burner.

But it is hard not to be a little disappointed. Did we do something wrong?

This is a perfect “Crap or Cone” moment.

CRAP:

💩This isn’t the location we want.

💩This makes us have to rethink what we bring, how we set-up, and lots more.

💩We may have fewer visitors.

CONE:

🍦We’re going to Burning Man!

🍦We get to build something magical together with a beautiful PHamily of like-minded, open hearted people!

🍦We will have a chance to share our offerings in a new way to new people.

🍦We have NO idea what is in store. Playa Magic is guaranteed.

So, for now, we need to take a moment to let the dust (*ahem*) settle in our brains. Then we’ll start re-adjusting our logistics and layout to see what still makes sense.

Please don’t interpret my momentary adjustment of expectations as complaining. There are “1st World Problems,” and then there are “Burning Man Problems.” I am SO LUCKY to experience Black Rock City.

Bottom line: IT IS GOING TO BE PERFECT!

*Halcyon's Pink Ride will still be on Thursday at noon.

*Pink Heart Camp will still gift ice water and vegan ice cream.
