❤️‍🩹 Sending this feels *cringe*

My Unworthiness Monster is heckling me right now.🧌

I feel uncomfortable every time I promote my professional services.

Intellectually, I understand my value.

I also know that people are more committed to (and get more out of) events that they have invested money in.

But I still want to give everything away.

Maybe it is because I’ve spent half my life (27 years!) devoted to Burning Man and the Principle of Gifting.

More likely, it is a deep wound that hears every, “No, thank you”as a rejection.
Or a confirmation of my lack of worth.

If I send out an email announcing an upcoming event, and it doesn’t sell out immediately, there is an old, unhealed part in me that grabs the microphone in my head and starts cackling, “Ha!!! See?!? Nobody wants you. You have nothing of value to offer!”

My intellectual mind knows this isn’t true.

But some part of me must still believe it - otherwise I’d be able to laugh it off.

I’ve made lots of progress the last 3 years towards healing that old “unworthiness” wound.
But old wounds can be stubborn.

Consider this email to be another round of therapeutic treatment for me.
The dark stuff doesn’t like to be brought into the light.
Sometimes sharing shame can be a miracle cure.

So it is with 99.9% self-confidence and .1% lingering inner doubt that I ask you:
